Please understand that CallNClick.com is a freely available service to help buyers and sellers (and etc.) find one another. CallNClick.com is not involved in any transactions and can not police the actions of our many users.

In order to maintain a safe and secure environment on our website, we at CallNClick would like to caution our users to be wary of a various Internet scams. One of the best ways to avoid scams is to buy and sell locally and use common sense when conducting transactions. If your instincts tell you that it's scam, then it probably is.

Here are some tips to avoid fraud on CallNClick.com or anywhere on the Internet:

  • Deal with people in your area.
The vast majority of scammers will contact you from another country or somewhere far away. The best way to avoid scams is to deal locally, in person.
  • Do not wire funds (via Western Union, etc.).
If you are asked to wire funds, you are talking to a scammer.
  • Beware of fake cashier checks and money orders.
Fakes are common and banks may even cash them. But when the fraud is discovered you may be liable.
  • Never share your private info.
Anyone asking for your personal information like bank account numbers, login info, or credit card number is a scammer.
  • Avoid shipping and escrow.
Scammers commonly employ fake, online escrow services.

- Always remember the most important rule -- BUYER BEWARE.

Types of Scams

Most scams involve the following:
(1) Distant (typically foreign) buyer or seller
(2) Offers include cashier's check, money orders or escrow services

Recently, the most common scams involve distant buyers offering high-value (but counterfeit) cashier's checks for an unseen item. The value of the cashier's check often exceeds the value of the item and the buyer will ask you to wire the remaining balance. The fake check will fail to clear and banks will hold you responsible for the balance. We've listed some examples of these letters below:

Example 1

I 'm David from US. Having seen your advert, I hereby crave your indulgence to my interest of buying it and the payment will be made through via check, after which, my shipper will come or the pick-up. I shall be interested to know the suitable price of this item besides, I will send 3000 dollar on check to you and after the clearance you will wire the balance through western union transfer to my shipper

Example 2

I saw your advert online and am ready to pay you $1100. Just for you to hold it. I am based in UK. My mode of payment will be through money order, I will instruct my client in the USA to make out a money order of $5000 to you. Reason being that it is a refund payment, and the Customer issuing the check has the policy not to issue more than one check to a refund payment. This means that the check is going to carry the whole amount of what I am buying and also the shipping. The excess will be for the shipping of the item and my other goods in the USA. I want you to send the balance which is meant for the shipping to my shipper who I will instruct to contact you after I have received an email from you telling me you want to sell to me. If my offer is okay kindly reply by giving me your full name and address to which payment will be made too and also photos so I can see what I really want to get.

Example 3

Have PC and Internet, work from home! These kinds of ads are very common online. You may also find them to be very appealing, when you are really on the look out for a job or unable to work from outside. Such ads do not actually specify the amount of work in hours that you may have to do or don't disclose all the costs that you will have to bear to acquire the job. Most of these, work from home plans, need you to spend your own money to get the supplies or equipment, to do the job. You may also end up paying for instructions or "tutorial" software.

Beware of such ads. Genuine work from home programs tell you in writing about what's involved in the program they are selling. You may want to ask a few questions as these:

  1. What tasks will I have to perform? (Ask the program sponsor to list every step of the job.)
  2. Will I be paid a salary or will my pay be based on commission?
  3. When will I get my first paycheck?
  4. What is the total cost of the work from home program, including supplies, equipment and membership fees? What will I get for my money?

Example 4

For those who are health conscious and are looking out ways to stay fit, beware! Health and diet scams are working out ways to reach you. You may find ads online about pills that let you lose weight without exercising or changing your diet, herbal formulas that liquefy your fat cells so that they are absorbed by your body, cures for impotence and hair loss. This is just another scam waiting to flood your email boxes.

Remember, the fact is that successful weight loss requires a reduction in calories and an increase in physical activity. Do not go by case histories from "cured" consumers claiming amazing results; testimonials from "famous" medical experts you've never heard of; claims that the product is available from only one source or for a limited time; and ads that use phrases like "scientific breakthrough," "miraculous cure," "exclusive product," "secret formula," and "ancient ingredient."
